Removal Defense Corps

Loyola and Southwestern Law Schools are proud organizers of the Removal Defense Corps, an L.A. Justice Fund collaborative. Our mission is to expand the capacity of the Los Angeles legal community to provide quality, free legal services to individuals at risk of deportation. Our approach is three-pronged: 1) legal training for law students and volunteer attorneys 2) placement of removal cases with pro bono attorneys and matching of those attorneys with mentors, and 3) provide resource materials to support attorneys doing removal defense work.

The Removal Defense Corps Resource Bank is an online platform that hosts materials for use by LAJF partner organizations and staff attorneys, pro bono attorneys, and legal volunteers they work with. It contains links to our trainings, samples materials and practice guides. Please contact kayleen.hartman@lls.edu if you have any questions about the resource bank.
